Opinion #4: Dont Inject Bleach into Your Body!
If someone told you injecting bleach in your body will cure COVID-19, would you immediately listen to them without confirmation?
I would hope your answer is no.
At a news conference on Thursday, President Trump shocked nearly everyone when he suggested using powerful cleaning agents, through an injection, as a possible cure for COVID-19.
He literally suggested we “clean” our bodies with disinfectant to treat the coronavirus.
First off, this has to be the wildest thing I have ever heard from a public official. Second, who in their right mind would listen to something like this?
This is clearly dangerous and should go without saying. You could die.
According to the New York Times, so many callers in Maryland flooded a health hotline that they had to issue a warning stating “under no circumstances” should any disinfectant be taken to treat the coronavirus. Even Clorox and Lysol had to plead Americans to not inject their products.
It blows my mind that people even have to ask about something so ridiculous when it is clear on the labels of these products to never do such a thing. Then here we have our President suggesting it’s a good idea.
During this horrible time, people are looking to get information and guidance, not rumors and fake news. Yet, this seems to be a common reoccurring theme.
That being said, it was also warned by the Food and Drug Administration that hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine can cause dangerous abnormalities in heart rhythm for coronavirus patients. Yet, these are additional drugs that President Trump has repeatedly recommended in treating the coronavirus.
This brings me another main point: Don’t be so oblivious in this generation to believe everything you hear on the news or in the media.
During this time, there is so much information being released some of which is supported through evidence, some of which is not.
It is so important to be cautious and aware of what information is supported through research by health officials.
We have come to the point where people have to be warned not to drink bleach. How sad is that?
I do agree the media blows things out of proportion and takes things to an unnecessary level, but it comes to a point where I think people like the President should be more educated than to say something this ridiculous.
It is concerning that people relying on the news during this difficult time can’t trust half the things being said because it is either incorrect or the media is blowing it out of proportion.
The bottom line is, don’t take medical advice from President Trump, most likely you will die.
